The Journey So Far
Since 2019, Ormeau Community Cinema has grown from a small pop-up screening project into a year-round community cinema, bringing cult classics, international film, documentaries, family screenings, festivals, workshops and social events to venues across Belfast.

2019 to 2020: Getting Started
OCC began with early pop-up screenings including Jumanji, Reservoir Dogs, Extra Ordinary, Gremlins, A Bump Along the Way, Romeo + Juliet, BlacKkKlansman and Eighth Grade. These first events helped shape OCC as a relaxed, welcoming space for people to watch films together outside a traditional cinema setting.

2021: Paranormeau Begins
2021 saw the launch of the first Paranormeau Activity, with Trick ’r Treat, Cinemas Past and Present and The Blair Witch Project. What started as a small Halloween programme would go on to become one of OCC’s key annual seasons.
